Sports: Crap

Immediately after the Gators won the NCAA Tournament, rumors began flying about whether head coach Billy Donovan would leave to coach at Kentucky. Donovan didn't bite then, but there was still a lot of speculation whether he'd take an NBA head coaching position. Unfortunately for Gators fans, that speculation was justified - Donovan took a job with the Orlando Magic yesterday.

I suppose I don't blame him - not only is the contract worth huge amounts of money (to the tune of nearly $6 million a year for 5 years), but, more importantly for an overachiever, Donovan gets to coach against the highest level coaches and players in the country. Instead of another season fighting no-name schools, you get to figure out how to stop King James, Tim Duncan, and a host of other superstars who are exponentially tougher and more skilled than college athletes.

It's going to be tough finding someone to fill Donovan's position. VCU coach and Donovan assistant Anthony Grant has the inside track, but of course, it's anybody's guess.
