Shamus Young runs a pretty great blog (it's tailor-made for gaming geeks, so your Charisma stat takes a -2 penalty just for going there :-P), but the real masterwork of his site is "DM of the Rings," an epic "Lord of the Rings" hypothetical situation. Confused? Check out the first page:

Hilarity. There's nothing better than taking a mirror to an entire hobby and reflecting it back in a particularly unflinching way. That modern role-players might only know "Lord of the Rings" from the Peter Jackson movies is even better - you can actually imagine a scenario like this, where some D&D players know more about elves from Wizards of the Coast than Tolkien.
